Split screen editing allows us to use multiple shots on the screen at the same time. When used creatively it can be a powerful tool to juxtapose, provide more details using two related(LS,MS,CU) or totally unrelated(Flashbacks etc) shots in your story.

Driving from Philly to Jersey ,catching the NJ Transit Train to Penn Station and roaming around the city that never sleeps is not new for us but it is for Hasini.So for a change we hopped on to the NY Sight Seeing buses which took us to the places like China Town which we have never been to.

On our way back, following the protocol we had Pau Baji,Masala Chai at Desi Galaxy and packed Biryani at Dakshin Express.The car won't start otherwise:).Oak Tree Road (Mini India) is just a half mile away from Metro Park Station.


ఫిల్లీ నుంచి కారు లో బయలుదేరి,మెట్రొపార్క్ స్టేషన్ లో నివ్ జెర్సీ ట్రాన్సిట్ రైలు పట్టుకొని పెన్ స్టేషన్ చేరి నివ్ యార్క్ చుట్టేయడం మాకు కొత్తేమీ కాకపోయినా హాసినీ కి ఇది మొదటి సారి.అందుకే ఎప్పట్లా సబ్వేలో కాకుండా హాసినీని మొదటి సారి బస్సు ఎక్కించి, నిదరంటే తెలియని ఈ నగరంలో ఇంతక ముందు వెల్లని ప్రదేశాలు, గైడు మాటలు అప్పుడప్పుడూ వింటూ చూసేసాం.

ప్రొటోకాల్ ఫాల్లో అవుతూ తిరుగు టప్పాలో, దేసీ గెలాక్సీ లో పావూ బాజి తిని,మసాలా చాయ్ తాగి,దక్షిన్ ఎక్స్ ప్రెస్ లో స్పెషల్ బిరియాని ప్యాక్ చేయించాక కాని కారు కదలదు.మెట్రొపార్క్ స్టేషన్ నుంచి ఓక్ ట్రీ రోడ్డు (మినీ ఇండియా) అర మైలే.

Jai Ho : South Asian Employee Connect

Every year the South Asian Employee Connect program at work brings everyone together for a cultural feast. What made it special this year was Jai Ho! .While Sparsa and team of manager’s and leads mastered it for three weeks and performed to perfection have joined to copy and do the balancing act in Take 2 :)

The entire program was very well organized with Asian art work and Tasty Indian food.

ఏటా వో సారి ఆఫీసులో అందరినీ కలేస్తూ తిర్నాళ్ళ లా జరిగే సౌత్ ఏసియన్ కన్నెట్ ,ఈసారి జై హో నౄత్య ప్రధర్సన తో మరిన్ని ప్రసంసలు అందుకొంది.మూడు వారాల ప్రాక్టీసుతో స్పర్శ, మనేజర్లు , లీడ్లు మొదటి రౌండు అదరగొట్టారు.రెండో రౌండుకి నేను ఆగలేక దుంకి స్టెప్పులు కాపీ కొడుతూ చేసిన ఫేట్లు చూసి అనందించండి:)

It is tough to give up habits we have cultivated over the years. And when its dance i find it hard to resist no matter what the place and context are. Sebastian was one of my mentors at the new work place. I found their agile programming practices and the passion to share so interesting that I used to take pictures and shoot videos when they organize the agile Philly sessions once every month. As i shared our Dhwani performance video with Sebastian an outlook email icon popped on the right corner of my screen - Talent Show was the subject and what happened next can be seen here.

Thanks to Sebastian for shooting a memorable video and Purple Team for the banners and encouragement. Performing in front of my colleagues was a new and exciting experience that will stay atop of my dollar dream experiences.

ఒక్క రోజులో మారిపొతే మనిషికీ మహాత్ములకి తేడా ఏముంది చెప్పండి? నాకు ఏదయినా మానెయడం పెద్ద విషయం కాదు గాని ,డ్యాన్సు విషయం లో మటుకు సమయం సంధర్బం పట్టించుకోకుండా స్టేజీ ఎక్కేసే అలువాటు.సెబాస్టియన్ నా కొత్త ఆఫిసులో వో మంచి "మెంటరు" - ఎక్కువ రోజులు కంపెనీలో వుంటే వచ్చే పేరు ఎమో? :).తను ప్రతి నెలా వో సారి ఏర్పాటు చేసే ఎగైల్ ఫిల్లి కార్యక్రమాల లో వుస్తాహంగా పాల్గొనడమే కాకుండా ఫొటోలు వీడియోలూ తీసి సాయ పడే వాడిని.వో రోజు మా ధ్వని డ్యాన్స్ వీడియో తనకి చూపించిన వెంటనే నా ఔట్లుక్ ఈమైల్లలో ట్యాలెంట్ షో అన్న సబ్జెక్టు కనిపించింది.మిగతాది వీడియో లో చూడండి.

నేను అనుకోని ఎన్నో మదుర మైన మరుపు రాని సంగటనలు నా డాలర్ డ్రీంస్ లో జరిగి నప్పటికీ ఇది మటుకు నా కలలో నైన కలగననిదిగా మిగిలిపోతుంది.మరపురాని వీడియో అందించిన సెబాస్టియన్ కు,బ్యానర్లు కట్టి మరీ ప్రోత్సహించిన మా పర్పుల్ టీం కు నా ధన్యవాదాలు తెలియచేసుకుంటూ ఆదా బర్సే.

Every evening ,as soon as we hear the unique silencer sound of your legendary Bajaj Chethak we used to act studious.While you park the scooter we ran towards you to grab our favorite snacks.

I have started liking Chiranjeevi because my friends said he looks like you.

Though mom used to take disciplinary action when and where required:),i can not remember an instance where you even harshly spoke.

Short or long drives you keep us entertained with your stories and experiences filled with wisdom and humor.

Every time i drive to jersey or watch a movie i remember our nostalgic drives from Vinjamoor to Nellore and how we used to watch every good movie the first week.

And the best of them all you have taught us how to live simple,generous while living life the King Size.

Dhwani

Dhwani is the cultural event of VISA (Villanova Indian Students Association) that is celebrated every year during Diwali. As we danced for the 5 min fusion of three telugu songs the entire event was a high-energy show with dancing, singing and delicious Indian food.

ఎప్పుడు ఎదో ఒక పండుగకి ఎదొ ఒక అస్సొసియేషన్ వారు ఏర్పాటు చేసే సాంస్కృతిక కార్యక్రమాలలో పాల్గొనే మేము ఇ సారి మన విలనొవా యునివర్సిటీ ఇండియన్ విద్యార్దులు దీపావలి సమయంలో గనంగా జరుపుకొనే ధ్వని లో పాల్గొన్నాము.ఆ పెర్ఫార్మెన్సు కి ప్రతి ధ్వని మిరే వినండి/చూడంది.యౌత్ అమ్మా:)

Dance in Denver

Dancing in front of your close relatives and friends is not same as dancing on stage.Here is short video of me and sparsa as we did a Pokiri in Denver - The mile high city.It was on the eve of my nephews first birthday which makes it even more memorable!

I have also danced for my favorite Bangaru Kodi Petta(old) from Gharana Mogudu and Yema Ho yemma from Chirutha ondemand.Sparsa also did a solo for Barsore Megha from Guru.Actually these are kind of left overs from our wedding/mehandi function:)

12 Marks For Dancing & TAGDV Sankranthi Celebrations 2011

Not that i have won an oscar but - This post on the blog is dedicated to every professor like Lingaraju Sir who not only guided us academically to be good professionals but also encouraged us in every tiny aspect of our lives and taught us by example on how to be good human-beings.

It was a small but well decorated stage on the lawn in the middle of our three storied computer science department building.The stage was built with atmost planning/care by a bunch of final year students under the supervision of two newly joined lecturers .They were so possesive about it that they dint want any one to dance claiming that it was too small and delicate.All that was allowed for that evenings yearly COSMOS(our Dept Nick Name) departmental function were a few songs and speeches.Disappointed ,as i was stepping out of the building i ran in to our CG(Computer Graphics) Professor SM Lingaraju Sir.One of the - not only mine but many others - favorites from our engineering days.On a casual note he asked me if i am peforming that evening and i explained him the situation.It took him just a few mins/words to convince/command the lecturers who once were his students that i can perform no matter what the stage looks like.But I had to go solo dropping of my two buddies who practiced hard for two weeks.







That evening like a circular parking lot at a busy shopping center as the department floors got stacked up with students/lecturers i have danced for that years mass masala telugu number gajuvaka pilla amidst loud cheers.As i started off solo on stage my buddies joined me from the crowd dancing right next to the stage.






The very next next day we had our CG(Computer Graphics)final internal exam.I did great in the first two but for this i was only half prepared for obvious reasons.As i walked in to the class half tensed Lingaraju sir accepting my greetings announced to the class that he is awarding me 12 grace marks for my dance performance on stage the day before.12 out of 25 and as i said i was prepared for the other half already:).






@@@10 years later.... Bharatiya Temple 5PM Eastern Standard Time...


The TAGDV (Telugu Association of Greater Delaware Valley) Sankrathi celebrations started of beautifully with Bommalakoluvu & Drawing and Rangavalli(Muggula) Competitions for kids.


While we actually planned/praticed to do one slot the organizers at TAGDV wanted us to do one more and we had to sneek in a couple of our 2009 classics:) at the last minute.As we enjoyed every other performance on stage and the food , they have enjoyed our performances with cheers and encouraging words later.The program concluded with bogipallu for kids .


An update on the program was also aired on TV9.

Batkan - A roaming soul...

They used to call me batkan(a roaming soul) while in college and i have proved it again and again while i drove miles in snow and wind and flew places in rain and the sun - asking but not caring why. But not any more..






When the long drives are really long.....

When i search for movies/books on the flight..

When i wait for the best of the movies to end....

When i  can see/realize my shadows...

Thats when you are not next to me and that is when i cared to ask why...
